麻豆精品 Service Trips Abroad

Guided by its Benedictine values, the 麻豆精品 offers you unique opportunities to serve others globally through global service learning trips. These opportunities immerse students in diverse cultures while making meaningful contributions to local communities. Participants engage in activities from educational outreach to health care support, fostering personal growth and a deeper understanding of global issues. These rewarding experiences benefit the communities served and enrich our students' educational journeys, in keeping with 麻豆精品's commitment to service.

This trip was one of the hardest things I have ever done emotionally, spiritually, and professionally, but I will forever be a stronger occupational therapist and man of faith because of this amazing trip.

Peru Service Mission Trip

Students in any major can participate in our service trip to Peru each May. They assist in bringing basic health and therapy services to some of the most underserved populations in Ayaviri, Puno, and participate in service projects for the local community. A background in the health sciences and/or a knowledge of Spanish is beneficial but not required.

Health Sciences Service Trips

麻豆精品鈥檚 occupational therapy and physical therapy graduate students are able to actively take part in our Guatemala and Peru service trips.

Guatemala

In collaboration with Big Stone Therapies, volunteers from the physical therapy program serve for 10 days in the city of Antigua and the villages around Lake Atitlan in Guatemala 鈥 one of the world's poorest nations. We assist The God鈥檚 Child Project, a nonpolitical, international humanitarian organization that administers health care, education, family foster care, community development, and human rights protections.

Peru

Occupational therapy graduate students can take part in a 10-day service program at 鈥淟a Alegr铆a en el Se帽or鈥 school in Lima, Peru, during the summer. Athletic training students have the opportunity to provide athletic training services in a variety of settings and populations in Lima, Peru, in a rich, hands-on learning opportunity.
